Second Magazine - Vogue

For my second magazine I create a copy of the Vogue Summer Edition. To recreate the original image, I positioned Hayley on a stool and asked her to do the same pose that Kate Moss is doing in the original image. I then put the image into Photoshop and cut out the background using the Polygonal Lasso tool and edited the HUE, Colour Balance, Vibrance and Saturation on the image to make the lighting look as close to the one on the original image as possible. I then put Hayley onto a background of a lavender field, similar to the background on the original image. For the main title of 'VOGUE' I used 'Baskerville Regular' and for the rest of the text I used a variation between 'Minion Pro Regular', 'Baskerville Italic and Regular' and finally 'Bebas Regular'. I also kept to the same pink and white colour scheme and used the eyedropper tool to get the baby pink colour as close to the original as possible.

After making my magazine copy I realised that the image of Hayley was too large and the background behind her wasn't dark enough and too focused. So I went back and edited the photo so that hayley was smaller and the background had a blurrier affect with more shadowing.

After editing the photo this is my final magazine copy:

NME

This is the first magazine cover I made which was a copy of an NME Magazine. For the picture I positioned Ollie, Sam, James and Sam outside in a way that was similar to the people in the original picture to make it look as similar as possible. For the fonts I used 'Franchise Bold' for the NME name and 'Bebas Regular' for the rest of the font's. I kept with the yellow, red, white and black colour scheme and also replace the picture of Kurt Cobain for a picture of Ken, also in black and white. This helped to add a small spin of my own work to the magazine.
